Prerequisites:
- Finish The Final Shape Campaign
- Complete each Overthrow at least once
1: Unlocking the Exotic Mission
1.1: Overthrow
Do the Overthrow activities in each Region and defeat the final boss.
You then will get a message that a Secret-Keeper of the Witch-Queen is somewhere.
They will NOT show up on radar unless you are close. Here are the spawn locations for each of them:
1.2: Oh no, Savathun is behind it all.
For the next Step you need a Partner. NOT a full fireteam, but ONE other player.
One of you should be on a Darkness Subclass, one on Light. Prismatic does count for both, not sure what happens if both of you are on Prismatic.. probably randomly chosen.
(EDIT: apparently, this step can be done solo if on a Prismatic subclass, or if you switch classes after returning one Ball. The mission however can NOT be done solo)
You will see a big, green beam of Light from The Blooming area. It points into the direction of The Refraction. Head there.
You go out the door to Ikoras ship and you will have two markers on the map. They look like half-moons.. go there and kill the adds. One of you has Darkness Buff, the other one a Light Buff. Only one of you can damage the Subjugator that spawns on each location. Each one will drop a ball (one light, one dark), bring them back to the statue and dunk them on the Light/Dark platforms above where you deposited the Motes during Campaign.
Once done a Mission Flag will appear at the statue
2: Dual Destiny – It’s VotD all over again
THIS MISSION IS TIMED. So you need to rush things… but we found that the timer was pretty generous and even with figuring most stuff out we had a couple minutes left. After reading this you will be fine.
If you have ever played or seen “It Takes Two” you will know how this Mission plays out XD
PSA: Currently you get TWO Exotics at the end if you run the mission with the same class, since you can open both chests. Will be patched soon probably, so abuse it as long as you still can.
Howto:
Step 1: Kill boss, and choose peace.
Step 2: As fast as possible both people run to the same class item and claim it at the same time
Step 3: Run to that ledge to join allies
Step 4: If you were fast enough to beat the mission end pop up you can both go claim the second class item together
If you don’t get the joining allies teleport before mission ends you were too slow as that area goes away
Once you start the mission you will head out where Ikoras ship is. There are adds there that you don’t NEED to kill, but unless you both have invisibility, I would recommend doing it. In the cave where you had to activate the 2 Light and 2 Darkness plates, you will now have some pedestals that will shine Dark or Light (the light one is in the little hole with the door where you got the Shield).
This is one of the big mechanics of the whole mission. Darkness Buff player on Dark platform, Light Buff player on Light platform. Done. Way opens.
Head inside and you are in the “Moth-Infested Cavern” area. Darkness player on top who can shoot crystals below symbols. Light player below who can see which symbols to shoot.
Two knights will spawn, kill them both each and you collect both motes from them. Then shoot the corresponding VotD symbols that the other player tells you and you are teleported to another area.
In this room you need to collect THREE motes instead of two. Thee pedestals will spawn which have 3 symbols above them for the Darkness Player. The Light player shoots them in the correct order (if you stand at the obelisk, it’s left to right). The Light player will see additional symbols that they can ignore.
After this you are teleported again. Head upstairs and your knights will spawn on opposite sites of the room. Again – one person can read symbols, one person can shoot them. This time it’s FOUR.
After this it’s more jumping/parkour. You have to activate several Light/Dark platforms to progress. At one point you even have to swap sides mid jumping puzzle. Fun.
Kill adds whenever you can, because they’re annoying af.
The next room introduces the next mechanic – a Clock.
Kill adds until a Tormentor spawns. Whoever KILLS the Tormentor can shoot the crystals that make up the clock.
You both have 6 symbols with a line to them, but only 3 of them match up. Shoot the three correct ones and you’re done.
Repeat the whole thing three times (including killing three Tormentors).
After this you have arrived at the final boss fight.
Boss 1: Frozen Joghurt Subjugator
You need to bring him down 1/3 of his HP while also dealing with about 2,7 million adds. After this, kill the Wizards that spawn (surprise one of them is Darkness and one of them is Light … I know, shocker). Then one Player can shoot symbols again that the other one calls out.
After this, murder the other 1/3 of his HP. He’ll back off into a shield
Boss 2: The “I know Strand better than Osiris” Subjugator
Same as before. Reduce his HP by 1/3 and you will see that the Clock lights up. One player can see what to shoot the other shoots it. Again, stabby stabby, shooty shooty until he also fucks off into his cage.
Boss 3: Frozen Ninjitsu
Okay I lied, it’s just those two dudes together. But first you need to uh “free them” from their cages. To do that you have clocks on both sides now that light up for each player. The pattern only stays lit for 5ish seconds before it changes to a new one – so be quick.
One player should call out their Numbers, and the other person says which one they have in common. Both players shoot that number.
Some adds spawn, after that repeat 3 times.
Then .. kill the bosses.
1.4: Now the FUN part =D
You go to the final area, where your loot is held in another cage. And you both die. The end.
After ressing, you are faced with two choices, War or Peace. Well … I don’t know exactly what happens but we both chose War … and we could PvP each other.
After killing the other player you are given a choice – CRUSH THEIR GHOST or Mercy. Since I am a coward I chose Mercy, but I’ll totally run it again to test out the other shit XD
After this you can collect your loot.
